...you're in my face!

It seems a bit ridiculous to be running even five minutes late for a thirty minute swim lesson. But for some mysterious reason, Ryker's towel, flip flops and swim goggles are always out of place. They're usually strung out one by one all the way to the car. Yesterday was no different and when we arrived at the lesson, he lost a flip flop, tripped on his towel and dropped his goggles in a desperate attempt to make up for lost time. I shouldn't have voiced my frustration. I know that now.

"Mom!" he shouted. "I just don't have any finesse when you're in my face!"

And then I laughed so hard I cried.

Em's Elegant Evening Tea Turned Swim Party...

Finally a minute to blog...I had no idea how much I'd enjoy planning such a girlie event for my girlie girl. I did manage to almost avoid the color pink. ;) Love you so much it makes my heart ache baby!

Happy Twos Em! And please know Andrea, I am not just using you for your many artistic talents. I really like you. I do. :) Thanks for the pics again!

Grandma Marlene is 60!

Bet you couldn't have guessed it! I didn't ask, but I think she quite enjoyed celebrating her birthday on the coast with all four grandchildren in attendance. Happy Birthday, Grandma Marlene.

more pics from cannon beach...

As expected, Cannon Beach was cool and beautiful. I especially enjoyed our hike around Tillamook Head to Seaside. Ryker loved roasting marshmellows. Emerson's favorite was "go to the beach." Ryan thinks he is a frisbee master but I've repeatedly assured him he's not. A friend suggested we eat at Lumberyard and we're glad she did. Crab and artichoke dip anyone? And the s'mores skillet is to die for. Thanks all! We loved every minute!
