resort pics

Ryker, Em and the Grandmas took early morning walks to fetch Grandpa's newspaper. Thanks to adequate rainfall, the resort grounds are beautiful this year!

san diego zoo

Our friend, Tanya, is a keeper at the Zoo. "Primate Protocol" requires that she wear long sleeves and pants in every kind of weather. This helps limit the transfer of germs from keeper to non-human primate. Tanya took us to the roof of the gorilla exhibit where we threw grapes, cucumbers and melons to a grumpy silverback. We especially enjoyed the mandrills, who performed a number of behaviors at Tanya's command. Before we were through, quite a few people gathered around for the "keeper talk". It was fun to see Tanya in her element and loving her work. Ryker's favorite was the skyride, polar bear exhibit and bug house.

"grandpa stupe"

We had fun with Grandpa. He treated us to his favorite dinner (and breakfast) at Ruby's. I'm convinced it isn't the food he likes so much as the exceptional service offered by cute girls in mini skirts and aprons.

palm springs pool pics

We played, swam, read, ate and napped at the pool. Ryker made lots of friends, engaging in many a game of toss with the old men. I had to take a picture of the view from my lounge chair one day. Note the snow capped mountains peeking through the lemon trees. Sigh. Thank you Grandpa and Grandma Good, Mom and Auntie Carol, for all of your help with the kiddos. We had a very nice time!
